    Today on Twitter Celebrity Makeup Artist AJ Crimson was tweeting some important industry knowledge. According to AJ, although some MUA called themselves Makeup Artist or Celebrity Makeup artist, most of the time they lack basic industry knowledge. AJ tweeted the importance of knowing who the Key artist is for certain fashion shows and knowing what trends are in season. Below are some of his tweets on the subject.

    Day 21 – A photo of something that makes you happy.

    Makeup makes me happy! As MUA I am always trying to enhance my skills whether its through reading, watching youtube tutorials or going to makeup seminars. I analyze a actor’s makeup while watching a movie. I even look at other’s women makeup when I’m on the train or bus (Thank God for sunglasses). Makeup artistry is something that I’m extremely passionate about and I only hope to get better with time and practice.



  8. Day 19 – Makeup Motivation (Created by me)

    I just finish watching this video for the third time today. When I watch makeup tutorials I instantly want to try and recreate the look. This tutorial is by Make-up Artist Mario Dedivano, he is the man behind Kim Kardashian’s flawless looks. This video is from one of his workshops for Industry Art Shops. I hope he adds a NY date to his workshop, because I definitely will be attending.

    Day 17 – One makeup Item that you rarely wear (Question I created)

    One makeup item that I rarely wear is lipstick. In almost every picture of me, my face is beat but I have no lipstick on. I have several lipsticks in various shades but I just don’t wear them. A big reason for this is insecurity. I have thick lips and for a long time I try my best not to call attention to them, which meant not wearing lipstick. Now you might be wondering why would a MUA have issues when it comes to makeup. Well I think every woman/man has one area of their body that they have a issue with. It just took me a little longer to accept the fact that this is the way God made me and my features are what makes me unique. I have slowly started to wear lipsticks, playing with different colors and I must say I was definitely missing out. What are some products that you’ve never worn?

  10. MAC Increase

    So today while on twitter Christine from Temptalia mention that MAC will be increasing their prices come August. You can imagine as a MUA this is the last thing I wanted to hear. Im still building my kit so these increases dont help. Although I do have a Pro Card, its still a bit much seeing that MAC is the only makeup brand that charges a yearly fee for their pro card. Yes having a forty percent discount comes in handy but for those who dont have a card, a price increase is a lot. I know MAC is very popular but I still think its a bit much to increase their prices. However, I doubt this will affect MAC in anyway seeing as people will still go out their way to get their favorite product.
